What we do

Dignity, integration, and practical support.

Okapi America helps Congolese Americans, immigrants, and newly arrived refugees work toward cultural integration and long-term professional success, while also supporting people affected by conflict and displacement in the DRC.

Our nonpolitical stance

Humanitarian work, without political affiliation.

Okapi America is strictly a nonpolitical organization. We do not support, endorse, or affiliate with any political movement or ideology anywhere in the world, including the United States and the DRC.

Although we deeply sympathize with the victims of the long-standing armed conflicts in the DRC, we remain entirely apolitical. This stance reflects our compliance with United States Internal Revenue Service regulations governing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and our core mission, which excludes political involvement of any kind.

Our sole mission is to help our members seamlessly integrate into American society while providing vital support to displaced brothers and sisters in African refugee camps and victims of the conflict in the DRC. We hope this statement clearly explains our position and prevents future misinterpretation, whether intentional or otherwise.

Okapi America is a nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to upholding human dignity. The organization empowers Congolese Americans, immigrants, and newly arrived refugees to achieve seamless cultural integration and long-term professional success. In addition, Okapi America provides vital relief to victims of civil war in the eastern region of the DRC.
